Three co-founders. One lived experience. One big gap.
"We didn't start with a market report. We started with a personal decision — and realised millions of people in India were waiting for someone to make the same one easier."
In 2019, Santosh made a decision that changed everything. After years of struggling with his weight, something clicked — he committed to understanding what he was actually eating, overhauled his relationship with food and fitness, and has since lost over 40kg. His journey is the inspiration behind Zingr Shake and the clean protein mission at the heart of the brand.
For Nisha, watching that transformation up close made clean eating a daily practice — reading every label, baking with real ingredients, and refusing to accept that healthy had to mean complicated. It was Nisha and Maruthi who independently landed on the same idea: India had no answer to Bevi. Sparkling water culture was growing globally but barely existed in Indian offices and gyms — and the functional hydration space was wide open for someone willing to do it right, with South Indian flavours and clean-label cartridges. That conversation became Zingr Sip.
Maruthi brings a decade of core automotive engineering — designing systems and products that had to work right, every time — followed by an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and a career in consulting. He had been watching India's health food wave and kept asking why none of it was showing up in the physical spaces where people actually needed it.
Three mechanical engineers, two ideas, one company — built by people who grew up on South Indian food, spent their careers demanding precision, and want to give something real back to a country they love.
"Santosh showed us what clean food can do for a person. Nisha and Maruthi looked at India's break rooms and asked why nobody had built Bevi here yet. Those two ideas became one company."
